The Iranian regime authorities temporarily released the Ahwazi detainee Abdul Hamid Kinani with a financial document estimated at 2 billion Iranian riyals for a period of ten days.
The Iranian regime forces arrested Abdul Hamid Kinani and a number of young men from Shawor on October 28, 2018, and put them in intelligence prisons without their relatives knowing or enabling them to appoint a lawyer to defend them.
In mid-June of last year, the Revolutionary Court in Ahwaz issued a four-year prison sentence for 26-year-old Abdul Hamid Kinani.
Kinani and a number of the city’s youth were subjected to severe beatings, and inhuman physical and psychological pressure and other brutal methods of torture were applied against them.
For its part, the Ahwazi Organization for the Defence of Human Rights renews its call to human rights and international organizations and bodies to form a fact-finding committee to find out the truth about the violations against Ahwazi detainees in Iranian prisons.
The organization called on the international community and the United Nations, especially the committees and special rapporteurs concerned with investigating crimes committed in Iran, including the Working Group on the Issue of Arbitrary Detention, the Special Rapporteur on the issue of torture, the Committee Against Torture, and the Working Group on Enforced or Involuntary Disappearances, to monitor the situation in Ahwaz closely.
It stresses the necessity of seeking to monitor and document violations, press the Iranian authorities to stop them completely and immediately, and bring those responsible to justice.
