New arrests of minors in Al-Ahwaz

The authorities of the Iranian regime expanded the detention department to include separate cities and neighborhoods in Ahwaz, as part of the fierce crackdown launched against the Ahwazi youth and the abuse of minors.

Human rights sources reported that the Iranian security forces arrested Karim Abayat, aged 18, without any clear charges, as part of a new raids campaign launched this week that targeted The Thawra neighborhood.

Local sources told the “Ahwazi Organization for the Defence of Human Rights,” that security forces accompanied by intelligence services stormed the home of Mr. Karim Abayat in a brutal manner that terrorized the people, tampered with his belongings without prior warning and took him to an unknown destination.

The organization also reported that the security forces of the Iranian regime in the city of Abadan, accompanied by an intelligence force, stormed the neighborhood at dawn on June 15 and arrested Mr. Abbas Irbihat Ramadan and took him to an unknown location.

The sources confirmed that the Iranian regime authorities continue to abuse the Ahwazi youth, who reject the Iranian regime’s policy, intending to limit and stop national poetic and cultural activities aimed at spreading national awareness and preserving the Arab Ahwazi identity.

Accordingly, the Ahwazi Organization for the Defence of Human Rights expresses its deep concern about the fate of detainees in the notorious Iranian prisons; In light of the outbreak of the Coronavirus (COVID 19), especially as the Iranian regime still ignores the precautionary measures recommended by the World Health Organization.

The organization affirms that the authorities of the Iranian regime are practicing a policy of neglect of the prisoners and refuses to provide and enter medical supplies and medicines for them; It contrasts with its obligations under international law and human rights principles and constitutes a flagrant violation of relevant international instruments.

The Ahwazi Organization calls for defending human rights, the United Nations, and international and human rights organizations and bodies to intervene to stop the policy of arbitrary inhumane detention by the Iranian regime, which does not have mercy on the young from the big, and which amounts to a war crime.

And calls on the international community to continue to put pressure on the fascist Iranian regime, which has exhausted the Ahwazi Arab people with its brutal crimes and tasted the ugliest kinds of torture, taking advantage of the world’s preoccupation in facing the deadly Coronavirus.
