The light rains reveal the neglect of the Iranian regime and the collapse of its infrastructure in Ahwaz

The past few days witnessed light rain in different areas of Ahwaz, but it caused daily life to stop. Revealing the neglect of the Iranian regime and the collapse of its services.
The Ahwazi Organization for the Defence of Human Rights obtained videos and pictures showing most of the streets in several Ahwazi cities flooded with rainwater; It was as though a flood had struck it, while the heavy rainy season had not yet begun.

To make matters worse, the mixing of rainwater and sewage water swept the homes of citizens in some areas, while the people found themselves trapped inside their homes in other areas.

Other photos also showed some citizens using plastic barrels and rubber boats to move around, as the traffic movement was completely paralyzed. Other videos showed cars that were completely submerged in water, causing heavy material losses, in conjunction with the difficult economic and living conditions.

For its part, the Ahwazi Organization for the Defence of Human Rights warns against the Iranian regime’s exploitation of the rains this year to open dams and flood Ahwazi villages and cities, similar to what happened last year.

The organization explains that the light rains revealed the fragility of the infrastructure in Ahwaz as a result of the policy of marginalization and discrimination adopted by the Iranian regime against the indigenous population. While the Persians enjoy full and integrated services at the expense of the Ahwazi people.

The organization stresses that the Iranian regime has been using natural disasters to punish the Ahwazi people to achieve the project of demographic change and displace them from their lands.

 

The Iranian regime bears full responsibility for the lives of the citizens in Ahwaz in light of its laxity and negligence in strengthening and restoring the flood bumpers, especially with the Meteorological Authority warning that this year’s winter will witness heavy rains.
