“Fatima Berihi” a victim of the women’s rights lost under the fascist Iranian regime
The sources indicated to the “Ahwazi Organization for the Defence of Human Rights” that Fatima Brihi had married her cousin forcibly, and after a while, she was unable to continue her forced arranged marriage, therefore, she decided to flee to Iran away from her family in the city of Abadan.
The sources confirmed that the Iranian regime authorities did not move a resident in front of the crime that rocked Ahwazi society, and did not interfere to protect women.
The Ahwazi Organization for the Defence of Human Rights believes that the issue of the murder of Ahwazi woman Fatima Brihi has many dimensions, the most important of which is the repressive measures taken and imposed by the Iranian regime towards human rights institutions and organizations defending women and their social and political oppression, it was a barrier before Fatima Berihi to attain her stolen rights, as a result, old customs and traditions.
Also, if the Iranian regime imposes strict laws to protect women, no one dares to approach them and kill them.
The Ahwazi Organization for the Defence of Human Rights notes that the repressive campaigns launched by the Iranian regime against intellectuals and activists who carried on their necks the task of spreading awareness among the Ahwazi people indirectly contributed to the spread of negative customs and traditions stemming from intolerance and ignorance within Ahwazi society.
The organization considers the heinous crime a natural outcome of the discrimination and racism practiced by the Iranian regime against the Ahwazi people, through the regime’s closing of schools, preventing education, and deliberately spreading ignorance, poverty, and unemployment, all of which contributed to the deterioration of the social, cultural, and economic situation within the Ahwazi society.
It cannot be overlooked that, since Khomeini came to power, he deliberately abolished the legal code for the family and women, by which he overthrew all the gains that women had enjoyed and which had guaranteed them many rights; Like the right to divorce, child custody, etc., to cast women into the clutches of violence and crime.
Accordingly, the Ahwazi Organization for the Defence of Human Rights holds the Iranian regime fully responsible for the murder of Ahwazi woman Fatima Berihi.
The organization stresses that it is no secret to anyone that the Iranian regime is suffering from a deep and fascist situation that led to the waste of the rights of women and minorities in particular, which necessitates the revitalization of the concerned institutions and organizations to protect Ahwazi women.
The organization, Division for the Advancement of Women (DAW), International Research and Training Institute for the Advancement of Women (INSTRAW), the Office of the Special Adviser on Gender Issues and Advancement of Women (OSAGI), and the United Nations Development Fund for Women (UNIFEM), are calling for attention to be given to the issue of Ahwazi women and their suffering From wasting its rights and dignity under the weight of the fascist Iranian regime.
