Iran: the European Court of Justice will address the case of Press TV, and two Iranian senior officials
(London)- the European Court of Justice on the 5th May 2015 addressed the case of Press TV and two senior officials of the Iranian State Television and Radio, such as Mohammad Sar-Afraz the current senior of the Iranian official Television and Radio; and Hamid Reza Emadi the previous senior editor of English-language television network at Press TV.
The European Union in 2013 declared that both Mohammad Sar-Afraz and Hamid Reza Emadi, and Press TV, the Iranian official network in English were violated the human rights issue against the political, cultural, human rights activists alongside the journalists during their arrest in which Press TV showed the false confession of the activists, particularly Ahwazi Arab activists, Kurds and Iranian journalists. Therefore, the European Union put their names on the sanction list. The sanction prevented these seniors of entering the EU countries or having business and activity in whole the EU.
Justice for Iran during their interviews with the family of the victims, such as Ahwazi Arab, Kurds, Baluch, and other Iranian journalists stated that the Iranian senior officials had a key role in human rights violations. The mass number of the Ahwazi Arab activists and other Iranian journalists and the Kurds activist were faced the death penalty and long life imprisonment due to false confessions.
The name of Ahwazi Arab, who were forced to confess on the front of Press TV; Hadi Rashedi and Hashem Shabani, both were executed in January 2014; the brothers from Haidari family alongside their friend, who were executed in June 2012; Ali Chabishat and Sayed Khaled Mosavi, who were executed in April 2014; and Ahmad Dabat, who was faced 20 years life imprisonment. All these men, were forced to confess on the front of Press TV without accessing to lawyers and the open trial.
Justice for Iran in 2012 and 2013 were interviewed the families of victims, in which made Justice for Iran to prove to the EU that the both Iranian official senior and Press TV had a key role in human rights violations. Therefore, the EU, according to the evidences that Justice for Iran proved to the EU added Mohammad Sar-Afraz and Hamid Reza Emadi, and Press TV on the sanction list. The sanction caused Press TV and both Iranian senior to not be able to have an activity in the EU countries.
On the 5th May 2015, the Spanish lawyers were attended the Court of Justice in Luxembourg to defence of their Iranian senior clients against the EU sanction. The Spanish lawyers in the court claimed that Justice for Iran and the people who were claimed their relatives were faced violation of human rights by Press TV and Mohammad Sar-Afraz, all are political opposition activists rather than human rights activists. Therefore, their claims are unacceptable. However, the German lawyers, who had been selected by Justice for Iran have given to the court several new evidences to show that Press TV is working under the Iranian intelligence services, and both Iranian senior, such as Mohammad Sar-Afraz and Hamid Reza Emadi are members of the Iranian official authorities.
The German lawyers urged the European Court of Justice in Luxembourg to continue with the sanction against Press TV, and two Iranian seniors due to the case of violations of human rights, and the case of false confess that the prisoners were faced during the TV interview. However, just few hours before the court started, the letter of Hadi Rashedi, the Ahwazi Arab activists, who were executed in January 2014, showed that the Iranian intelligence services were forced them to have an interview on the front of Press TV. The letter also showed that the people who were worked for Press TV during the interview with him in Karun prison, all were members of the Iranian intelligence services.
The Arabian Gulf and Yemen& Ahwaz association for Human Rights urged the European Union to continue with their sanction against Press TV, and both Iranian senior, such as Mohammad Sar-Afraz and Hamid Reza Emadi. The association also urged the European Court of Justice to investigate the case of people who were executed because of the false confession during their force interview with Press TV.
