The Iranian regime launched a campaign of random arrests since the beginning of Ramadan
The Iranian regime forces continued the indiscriminate detention campaigns that have affected all parts of Ahwaz since the beginning of the holy month of Ramadan.
The Ahwazi Organization for the defence of Human Rights said that the forces of the regime did not observe the sanctity or privacy of the holy month of Ramadan, raided and searched houses, tampered with their contents, and terrified their residents.
The organization monitored the regime’s raid on the Ain neighborhood and arrested dozens of youths without any charges, including: “Mr. Jaafar Sayahi, Mr. Qasim Nisi, Mr. Majeed Al-Hashemi, Mr. Khalil Mousawi, and Mr. Ali Shabib Al-Mousawi,” and took them to an unknown destination.
According to human rights sources who communicated with the organization, the security forces also stormed the city of Sous in the Ahwaz, and brutally stormed the home of Mr. Kazem Al-Kaabi, and arrested Mr. Ishaq Kazem Al-Kaabi without charge and transferred him to an unknown location.
The sources explained that the Iranian regime forces had searched the home of Mr. Kazem Kaabi, the father of Isaac Al-Kaabi, in a wild manner and confiscated all books, equipment, and personal files.
The organization pointed out that the Iranian regime pursues criminal methods to suppress activists and silence the mouths to stop any cultural activity and all activities against human rights violations by sowing terror among the families of the detainees.
Accordingly, the Ahwazi Organization for the defence of Human Rights affirms that the Iranian regime seriously endangers the life of the Ahwazi people by continuing arrests in these exceptional circumstances as a result of the spread of its pandemic Corona (COVID-19); In conjunction with the blessed month of Ramadan.
The organization also condemns the Iranian regime’s continued policy of arbitrary arrests, ignoring all the risks that face the detainees as a result of the detention process and the accompanying mixing of detainees with soldiers and others.
The organization calls on human rights institutions related to the Iranian file, the international community, and the concerned authorities to take the necessary measures to hold the Iranian regime and its personnel accountable and to stop the violations that have been committed during the blessed month of Ramadan against the Ahwazi people.
