Reliable sources said that the Iranian regime authorities temporarily released the Ahwazi detainee in the name of Jassem Batrani with an exorbitant financial document despite his paralysis as a result of torture.  Until a judgment is issued against him.

Basem Batrani – who is 28 years old – was paralyzed last year after he was subjected to brutal torture in Shaiban prison in the capital, as a result of which his health deteriorated, and the prison authorities refused at the time to take him to hospital for treatment.

According to human rights activists, the prisoner, Basem Batrani, suffered bruises and fractures in the ribs and arms, in the recent prison uprising on March 31.

The family of Batrani did not stand idly by in the face of the deterioration of his health, as it tried to address the concerned organizations to put pressure on the regime authorities and try to expedite his transfer to the hospital for treatment.

Batrani comes from a family with a history of struggle. He is the brother of the martyr Ali Jassem Batrani, who met his Lord in the April 2005 uprising, during peaceful demonstrations, after the Revolutionary Guard forces showered the protesters with bullets and tear gas bombs.

The Ahwazi Organization for the Defence of Human Rights confirms that Bassem Jassim Batrani is like the thousands of detainees who are thrown into the worst prisons around the world by the Iranian regime’s authorities without clear charges.

The organization notes that Bassem Jassem Batrani is not the first detainee to be permanently disabled as a result of brutal torture, as there are those who have lost their eyesight, such as detainee Ahmed Dabat.  But it won’t be the last as long as the killer and jailer find no deterrent.

The Ahwazi Organization for the Defence of Human Rights calls on human rights organizations around the world and the international community to take urgent action and to activate international laws and charters to hold the pillars of the Iranian regime involved in committing war crimes against the Ahwazi people accountable and bring them to prompt justice.
