After the Ghezaniyeh .. “Thirst Uprising” knocked on the doors of Juffair
The water sector in Ahwaz is facing a dangerous reality that is deteriorating day after day, in light of the Iranian regime’s policies that aim to thirst the Ahwazi people and impose a new demographic reality on Ahwazi lands through water abuse.
The people of Ahwaz seem to have been overwhelmed. In the second reaction within one week, the people of the Juffair area near the city of Hawizeh crossed the main road to protest the continuous water cutoff and the lack of safe drinking water from the ground up.
Days ago, the city of Ghezaniyeh witnessed violent clashes between the people and the security apparatus of the Iranian regime, who crossed the main road to protest the continuous water cuts and the scarcity of drinking water, and the Iranian regime ignored their demands.
The Ahwazi Organization for the Defence of Human Rights affirms that the Iranian regime’s plans in Ahwaz did not stop at usurping the land, obliterating the identity of the Ahwazi people, falsifying history, and eliminating the manifestations of authentic Arab civilization, but rather striving to usurp all aspects of life and their means, chief among them is water that is the origin Life.
The organization notes that the Iranian regime has deliberately restricted the access of the people of Ahwaz to water, as it has put all obstacles that prevent its use, whether by constructing dams, drying rivers and polluting wells, while working at the same time to develop the structure of the Persian colonies water infrastructure and improve Its water systems – which are illegal under international law.
Accordingly, the Ahwazi Organization for the Defence of Human Rights calls for the necessity of pressuring the Iranian regime to stop its theft and pollution of water aimed at thirsting the Ahwazi people and displacing them from their lands.
The organization warns of the danger of exacerbating the political, economic, social, and living conditions in Ahwaz so that it does not turn into a humanitarian disaster that is difficult to control later.
The organization addresses the human conscience above all the necessity of forcing the Iranian regime to implement its obligations and obligations imposed on it by international laws and human rights instruments to save the people of Ahwaz from the scourge of forced migration in search of water as a basis for life.
